The JPII Life Center proudly participated in this weekend’s revived Ascension Seton Medical Mission at Home, which returned to Austin on May 16, 2026, after a seven-year hiatus to serve hundreds of individuals and families with free, comprehensive healthcare and support services.

Medical Mission at Home is Ascension’s flagship community outreach program, rooted in its mission to serve those most in need by delivering compassionate, high-quality care directly into communities — with no insurance, appointments, or payments required. Since its launch in 2008, the program has served thousands of individuals nationwide, addressing unmet health needs while fostering dignity, fellowship, and hope. The Austin event offered free medical services, no-cost prescriptions, immunizations, and connections to local community resources.

The commitment to meet people where they are mirrors the JPII Life Center’s own mission. At the event, Center staff and volunteers connected mothers with pregnancy support, parenting education, and long-term practical resources — walking alongside them not just through pregnancy, but in the months and years that follow. At the JPII Life Center, compassionate service doesn’t end at birth; it’s an ongoing commitment rooted in the belief that every mother and child deserves not merely to survive, but to thrive.

“This Medical Mission was a beautiful reminder of who we are called to be as a community,” said Linda Ruf, CEO of the JPII Life Center. “When organizations, churches, and volunteers come together to serve the poor and vulnerable, lives are changed. We are deeply grateful to Ascension Seton for reviving this important mission.”

The collaboration reflects a natural alignment: both Ascension Seton and the JPII Life Center are committed to removing barriers to care, upholding the dignity of every person, and ensuring that no one — especially the most vulnerable — walks alone.
